Jack Wang is Assistant Professor in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources and Director of the Forest Biotech group at North Carolina State University. He is also co-founder of TreeCo, a company that uses CRISPR-based genome-editing tools to produce genetically enhanced trees for the lumber industry. He is a forestry scientist with research experience in the genomic analysis of trees as they grow, develop, and defend against various environmental stresses. Wang received a biology and chemistry degree from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, and a doctorate from North Carolina State University.
